These terms govern access to legalbrief.co and the LegalBrief deposition-summary service. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms.
1. What LegalBrief provides
LegalBrief uses automated systems, including artificial intelligence, to create draft summaries and organize deposition testimony. The service may include page-line references, issue groupings, chronology, and other review aids.
2. Not legal advice
LegalBrief is a drafting and organization tool. It is not a law firm, does not provide legal advice, and does not establish a lawyer-client relationship. Output may be incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading. A qualified professional must verify the transcript, citations, context, and conclusions before relying on output.
3. Your account
You are responsible for activity in your workspace and for keeping access to your sign-in account secure. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Your material and authority to use it
You retain your rights in material you upload. You give LegalBrief the limited permission needed to host, process, and transmit that material to provide the service.
You represent that you are authorized to upload and process each transcript, including confidential and personal information it may contain. You are responsible for professional duties, protective orders, client instructions, and other restrictions that apply.
5. Acceptable use
You may not use LegalBrief to:
- Violate law, court order, confidentiality duty, or another person’s rights.
- Upload malicious code or interfere with service security or operation.
- Attempt to access another user’s files or workspace.
- Reverse engineer, scrape, or abuse the service or its usage limits.
- Represent unreviewed output as verified professional work.
6. Trials, subscriptions, and cancellation
A payment method is required to begin the seven-day trial. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the selected monthly subscription begins automatically and Stripe charges the payment method on file.
Plans renew monthly until cancelled. You can cancel through the billing portal. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not normally refund a current billing period. Usage limits and fair-use restrictions shown at purchase form part of these terms. Prices are shown in Canadian dollars unless the checkout page states otherwise.
7. Service changes and availability
We may improve, limit, suspend, or discontinue features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability or that every transcript can be processed. We may suspend access for abuse, security risk, nonpayment, or breach of these terms.
8. Disclaimers
To the extent permitted by law, LegalBrief is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or uninterrupted operation.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, LegalBrief and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data, business, or legal outcomes arising from the service. Total liability relating to the service will not exceed the amount you paid for LegalBrief in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the service changes. The effective date at the top identifies the current version. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms where permitted by law.
